SumUp Card Payments

Take card payments through SumUp. With a paired SumUp Solo/Air/3G reader (set sumup_reader_id), the till drives the reader directly for a real card-present tap/insert. With no reader configured, it creates a SumUp hosted checkout link instead (test mode: amounts ending .13 decline). Refunding a SumUp sale on the till refunds the original transaction automatically. Set your SumUp API key, merchant code, and (for reader payments) an affiliate key in the settings.

Implements the UK VAT eat-in/takeaway switch (VAT Notice 709/1): food a merchant sells zero-rated when taken away becomes standard-rated the moment it's eaten on the premises. Pure local logic — no external API, no network permission needed.

Stripe Card Payments

Take card payments through Stripe. Authorization runs BEFORE the sale completes: the till asks Stripe to charge the amount and only finishes the sale if Stripe approves. Set your Stripe SECRET key (sk_...) in the settings. For card-present payments, also set a Stripe Terminal reader id (stripe_reader_id) — the till drives the reader (Reader S700 / WisePOS E / M2, or a test simulated reader). With no reader id it runs an online/demo charge; in test mode amounts ending .13 decline. Card refunds are wired too: refunding a Stripe sale on the till refunds the original charge automatically.
